Garland’s Sounds of Summer Concert Series returns every other Friday, beginning May 5 through June 30, for a summer like never before!

The City of Garland, along with presenting partner Veritex Bank and artist sponsor Jimmy Wallace Guitars, is proud to present a diverse musical experience with evenings of FREE live music featuring lively artists and entertainers who are sure to blow you away with talent and get you dancing in Audubon and Winters Parks.

Bring the whole family to grab a bite from on-site food vendors and let the kids challenge each other in the activity area.


La Reunion Norteña

Formed in 2008, La Reunion Norteña electrifies any stage they perform on through acoustic norteño baladas, corridos, polkas, and rancheras.

In 2013, they released their album "Y de Nuevo...Para Ti" which marked the beginning of an extended run inside the Top Ten on the Mexican Regional Albums and Top Latin Albums charts that ran through their 2017 album release "Enamorandote."

La Reunion Norteña will be bringing their Chihuanhuan roots to the Sounds of Summer stage this year with their traditional style on accordion and saxophone.

Consisting of nine band members, Shinyribs combines Texas blues, New Orleans R&B funk, horn-driven Memphis soul, country twang, border music, big band swing, and roots rock to make an entertaining southern soul sound.

Named "Best Austin Band" at the Austin Chronicle's Austin Music Awards (2017, 2018), live performances feature the lead vocalist, Kevin Russell, creating a "cinematic experience with on-stage antics that often include him donning a light-up cloak or leading a conga line through the crowd."

Frank Hannon of TESLA

Although Frank Hannon is known best for his work in the rock genre as the founding member and lead guitarist of the band TESLA, his love for all types of music has led him to experiment in blues, country, and folk music.

This passion has also led him to record several solo albums including "Guitarz From Marz," "Gypsy Highway," "Six-String Soldiers," and "World Peace."

Frank is also passionate about the art of producing music and has worked with numerous other artists in his Northern California studio.

Nashville based Alt/Indie Singer, songwriter, and guitarist J.T. Loux formed his band in early 2020 with members Zach Cook on drums/back up vocals and Ethan Pecha on bass/back up vocals. Teaming up with Frank Hannon as producer, the outfit has written and recorded their debut album "Taken By Moonlight."

Ally Venable

Guitar player, singer, and songwriter, Ally Venable brings her blues-rock sounds to the Sounds of Summer stage this June. Venable is a two-time winner of the East Texas Music Award for “Female Guitarist of the Year ” and a three-time ETX Music Award winner for “Blues Band of the Year” and “Album of the Year."

Jimmy Wallace

Jimmy Wallace has been involved in the Dallas International Guitar Festival since its conception in 1978 and has had the privilege to watch grow to be the largest guitar event in the world.

Wallace owns a vintage guitar shop in historic downtown Garland - Jimmy Wallace Guitars - where they also build and distribute guitars internationally.

Legendary guitarist Jimmy Wallace will be bringing his electrifying sounds of Rock and R&B to Winters Park.


Zac Harmon

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi, Zac Harmon was exposed to a lot of blues music growing up and eventually became the embodiment of the music that emanated from the city's historic Farish Street district.

Today, Harmon is an award-winning guitarist, singer, and songwriter whose distinctive style continues the lineage of American Blues music.

Harmon recently received the award for "Soul Blues Album of the Year" for his latest recording "Long As I Got My Guitar" at the 43rd Annual Blues Music Awards.

Wanda King, the daughter of the late blues Legend and master Freddie King, began singing at an early age, learning from the best music and musicians.

Although her father's passing halted her career, Wanda eventually couldn't resist the urge to sing the blues.

Andrew "Jr Boy" Jones learned how to play the guitar at a very young age and by the age of 16, he began his professional career by joining Freddie King's backing band, the Thunderbirds.

In 1997, Jones released his debut solo album "I Need Time," "which showcases his crafty songwriting, great guitar playing, and powerful singing." After this release, Jones was nominated for a Blues Music Award for "Best New Blues Artist."

Junior Boy Jones will be bringing an authentic blues musical experience that will completely entertain and bring only good vibes to the Sounds of Summer stage.

Ray Wylie Hubbard

Legendary Texas troubadour, Ray Wylie Hubbard is a Texas singer-songwriter who acted as a catalyst in the cultural upheaval that led to the peaceful coexistence of Lone Star music enthusiasts who comprised each end of the social and political spectrum of the mythical Outlaw era.

Working alongside iconic colleagues like Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Doug Sahm, and Jerry Jeff Walker, Hubbard was part of the musical legacy that continues to inspire future generations of up-and-coming Texas talent.

A professionally trained vocalist, Rachel Stacy is first and foremost a songwriter. Along with her infectious smile and electric onstage persona, her talents include playing guitar, violin, and piano. Rachel’s sound is a combination of country, blues and Southern rock.
