Garland and Beyond Space Exhibit

The Garland Landmark Museum and the City of Garland are hosting the Garland and Beyond Space Exhibit at City Hall until September 2.

Visitors will be able to learn more about manned space travel through exhibits and artifacts presented by NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Downtown Garland will be filled with space themed activities all summer long.

Exhibit Hours

Monday - Tuesday: 8 AM - 8 PM

Wednesday - Friday: 8 AM - 5 PM

Saturday: 10 AM - 4 PM

Closed on Sundays

Space Dates

Space Dates are ‘out of this world’ date nights in Downtown Garland! Explore Garland in the space industry through exhibits and artifacts on loan from NASA’S Johnson Space Center in Houston.

Begin all Space Dates at the Garland and Beyond Space Exhibit at Garland City Hall at 200 N. Fifth Street from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Receive a NASA patch during each Space Date visit and wear throughout your date to receive a unique special per date.

*Note: There is a different patch per date so come to all the events to collect all four!*

May 12

Mission: Earn a patch at the exhibit and get a BOGO FREE special space beer at Intrinsic Smokehouse & Brewery. Enjoy your space beer and grab some dinner, then head over to the Band Together Concert Series to receive $10 in Downtown Dollars and for music by Up the Creek.

June 10

Mission: Earn a patch at the exhibit and wear it to The Frocksy for a FREE art class. Be sure to end your night at Intrinsic Smokehouse & Brewery for a BOGO FREE space beer.

July 14

Mission: Earn a patch at the exhibit then head to Infinity Arcade Restaurant and Bar for dinner and a night of epic galactic battles. Wear your patch and your cover is FREE! After a night a fun and games, wind-down with a refreshing BOGO FREE space beer at Intrinsic Smokehouse & Brewery.

August 12

Mission: Earn a patch at the exhibit and wear it to Into the Well for a FREE space themed couples yoga class. Once you've completed the class, head over to Intrinsic Smokehouse & Brewery for a BOGO FREE space beer to reward yourself for all the exercise you just did!

The National Space Society of North Texas

May 20

The National Space Society of North Texas (NSS-NT) will be on-site at the Garland and Beyond exhibit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 20. NSS-NT will have complimentary NASA lithographs, National Space Society (NSS) magazines, members to answer questions prompted by the exhibit, and more.

NSS-NT advocates for humanity's future in space, and NSS-NT has monthly meetings which include presentations on the latest information in space travel. NSS-NT is promoting the 41st annual International Space Development Conference (ISDC) from May 25-28, 2023, with the NSS.

NASA Solar System Ambassadors' Lecture Series

Join a NASA Solar System Ambassador at Garland City Hall for programs about NASA's space exploration, missions, and discoveries.

Foil Printed Moon Craft

On August 26, join Dr. Charlie Ruiz for a kids Foil Printed Moon Craft taking place between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Garland City Hall.

On August 31, the moon will be a blue supermoon that will follow near Saturn throughout the night. The craft will be as shown on the left, but with Saturn and a rocket ship added.

Dr. Ruiz will be on site to discuss Artemis Missions.

National Space Society Lecture

The National Space Society (NSS) presents The Future of NASA and Commercial Space Flight with Ken Ruffin on Saturday, July 22 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Garland City Hall.
